Ford reveals Top 5 best-selling colors for Ranger, Everest

Ford Motor Company has reported its Top 5 colors for its Ranger and Everest models, citing sales data from its International Markets Group (IMG).

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Australia and New Zealand, North and South Africa, and the Middle East are the markets under Ford IMG.

In a statement released Friday by Ford Philippines, the automotive company said that, "When it comes to the crunch, both Ranger and Everest buyers in the region prefer to keep things simple, sticking to the more classic colors."

The Ranger comes in a palette of over 20 paint color options, while the Everest has 10 colors across these markets. The two are part of Ford's truck and sport utility vehicle lineups, respectively.

While both models are capable of handling rugged terrains, shades of white—perhaps the cleanest of all colors—dominated buyers' preference for the paint job.

Over 35% of all Rangers sold in the last six months were Arctic White and Frozen White, Ford said.

On the other hand, more than 34% of buyers chose white color variants.

Here's the Top 5 colors for the Ranger and Everest, as per Ford IMG sales data:

Ford Ranger

  • Arctic White — 26.2%
  • Meteor Grey — 12.6%
  • Frozen White — 10.9%
  • Absolute Black — 9.7%
  • Aluminum Metallic — 7.6%

Ford Everest
  • Snow Flake White — 20.2%
  • Absolute Black — 17.9%
  • Meteor Grey — 17.7%
  • Frozen White — 14.2%
  • Aluminum Metallic — 10.8%

"Color adds personality to the vehicle and enhances the surface design," said Krista Lindegger, color and materials designer for Ford Australia.

"White is associated with cleanliness and purity, and we know that, anecdotally, white cars tend to hide scratches a little better than other colours and they don't show dust as easily," Lindegger said. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
