Yamaha introduces 'PG-1' to PH market

Yamaha Motor Philippines recently launched the PG-1

Yamaha Motor Philippines recently launched the PG-1 that is designed for "rugged performance" meant to ease through asphalt and outdoor terrains.

Powered by an 115CC FI engine, the PG-1 "gives a balance of torquey performance, ease of use, and low fuel consumption."

Yamaha said that this is a result of an optimized design for the combustion chamber and the intake and exhaust systems.

The Constant Mesh, 4-Speed transmission is complemented by the Air Cooled, 4-Stroke, SOHC, 2 Valves engine with a single cylinder.

This results in a 6.6kW (9.0PS)/7000?/min horse power with a maximum torque of 9.5N-m (1.0kgf-m) /5500r/min.

In terms of looks, the PG-1 has an H-Shaped front to "ensure increased rigidity and a high level of running stability."

The company said that this feature allows excellent shock absorption on bumpy roads and contributes to handling performance on unpaved roads and flat dirt.

The upright handlebar design, meanwhile, allows for a natural riding position because of its optimized height and width.

For capability on any terrain, ample height is given to reduce chances of hitting obstructions, all thanks to its 190mm ground clearance.

There's also the analog instrument cluster with gear indicator with a layout that combines a circular speedometer with the oval shaped fuel gauge and an array of other information.

The PG-1 has a 5.1L tank capacity with the refueling cap located under the rider's seat.

The seat is divided into front and rear sections for rider and passenger, with a long rider section for more freedom in riding position.

Rounding it off is an iconic round headlight and tail lights that complements its "overall timeless design." —VAL, GMA Integrated News
