Gasoline prices up, diesel and kerosene down Tuesday


Oil firms are set to hike pump prices of gasoline for the second straight week on Tuesday, while rolling back those of diesel and kerosene.

In separate advisories, Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Flying V, Petron Corp., Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. and Seaoil Philippines Corp. said they will hike prices per liter of gasoline by P1.00, while reducing those of diesel by P0.10, and kerosene by P0.60.

Cleanfuel, Petro Gazz, Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc., and Unioil Petroleum Philippines Inc. will implement the same changes, excluding kerosene which they do not carry.

The changes will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 except for Caltex which will adjust prices at 12:01 a.m., and Cleanfuel at 4:01 p.m. the same day.

Other firms have yet to make similar announcements for the week.

Latest data available from the Department of Energy (DOE) indicate a year-to-date net income of P5.70 per liter for gasoline, and net decreases of P0.90 per liter for diesel and P1.05 per liter for kerosene as of March 7, 2023.

Firms last week hiked prices per liter of gasoline by P0.40, diesel by P1.50, and kerosene by P1.25. — VAL/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
