Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair launches P75-M support initiative for creative industry
The Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) on Sunday announced a P75-million comprehensive support initiative that seeks to provide financial aid and opportunities to over 15,000 members of the country’s creative industry.
Held at the PhilSports Arena or Ultra in Pasig City, the BPSF will run until Monday, October 14, offering a range of services and benefits focused on professionals from the film, television, theater, and radio sectors.
According to deputy secretary general Sofonias “Ponyong” Gabonada Jr., among the benefits are the financial assistance and the workshops are designed to develop expertise in arts, media and entertainment, and to empower innovation.
The fair also provides cultural and creative workshops for attendees to develop their skills in a bid to boost the creative ecosystem that would drive economic growth.
“Ipinapakita nito na hindi natin nakakalimutan ng pamahalaan ang ating mga manggagawa sa larangan ng sining at media,” Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, a major proponent of the BPSF, said in a message to the beneficiaries.
“Sa bawat serbisyong hatid ng BPSF, layunin nating gawing mas madali at abot-kamay ang mga oportunidad para sa ating mga manggagawa sa creative sector,” he added.
(This shows that the government does not forget about workers in the art and the media… For every service of the BPSF, we aim to make opportunities easier and more accessible to the workers of the creative sector.)
The BPSF has also partnered with industry stakeholders to roll out job fairs and industry support programs tailored to the unique needs of professionals in the sector. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM, GMA Integrated News
