Prices of flowers at Dangwa expected to go up as Valentine's Day nears
The prices of flowers being sold at Dangwa Flower Market in Sampaloc, Manila went up slightly on Monday, but these are expected to go up even more as Valentine's Day nears.
"Ngayon po medyo mataas na pero mas tataas pa... mga sa [February] 12, 13, ganu'n," said flower vendor Jessa Galvez, according to a report by Corinne Catibayan on GMA News' Unang Balita.
Galvez said roses are still the bestsellers during the Valentine season.
Among the flowers being sold in Dangwa on Monday are:
- stargazer: P150 apiece
- sunflower: P150 apiece
- carnation: P200
- China roses: P1,800 per bundle
- paper roses: P850 per bundle
- misty: P800 per bundle
- gypzo: P1,800 per bundle
- gerbera: P200
Meanwhile, a three-piece sunflower arrangement costs P450, while that of a six-piece arrangement costs P600.
A dozen roses go for P700 per arrangement, while a 10-piece carnation arrangement costs P500.
Also available are balloons and stuffed toys.
Traffic on Laong-Laan Street near the Dangwa Flower Market was still clear on Monday. —KG, GMA News
