Hong Kong stocks start day lower


Hong Kong stocks edged down in the first few minutes Wednesday as investors awaited the outcome of key US midterm elections.

The Hang Seng Index dipped 0.10 percent, or 25.20 points, to 26,095.76.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index was barely moved, inching up 0.48 points to 2,659.84, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, slipped 0.10 percent, or 1.38 points, to 1,344.81. —Agence France-Presse
