Meralco power rates to go up by P0.3136 per kWh in July

The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) said Friday that electricity rates will increase by P0.3136 per kilowatt hour this month because of higher generation charge.

This means that a typical household consuming 200 kWh will have to pay around P63 more for its monthly bill.

“The higher July rate is mainly due to the P0.2823 per kWh increase in generation charge,” Meralco said.

The adjustment brings the overall rate to P10.1925 per kWh from P9.8789 per kWh in June. —VDS, GMA News
