DA to set SRP for rice, 7 other agriculture products
Eight agricultural products will be subjected to SRP (suggested retail price), the Department of Agriculture (DA) said Sunday.
"Walong agriculture products ang lalagyan ng SRP kabilang na ang [tatlong] klase ng isda, bawang, at sibuyas," Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol was quoted as saying in an interview on GMA Super Radyo dzBB.
“ Walong agri products ang lalagyan ng SRP. Kabilang na ang 3 klase ng isda, bawang at sibuyas, Kapag may SRP, you can only go up to no more than 10 percent of the SRP” Piñol .

“I think, ang ilalagay nilang presyo sa ngayon ay 39 pesos ang SRP sa commercial rice,” Lopez
The plan to place an SRP on rice and other agricultural products was raised amid the issue of shortage of government-subsidized rice.
"Kapag may SRP, you can only go up to no more than 10 percent of the SRP," said Piñol.
As of posting time, GMA News Online was trying to reach the DA for more information on SRPs. —Jon Viktor Cabuenas/LBG, GMA News
