BSP shows P100 bills bearing Duterte’s signature

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will soon release peso bills bearing the signature of President Rodrigo Duterte, a report by JP Soriano on "24 Oras" said Thursday.

The BSP said the bills were still undergoing approval and release procedures.

"'Pag magbabago ang ating Presidente dapat siya na rin 'yung ang naka-pirma sa ating pera," BSP Deputy Director Grace Malic said.

Because of President Rodrigo Duterte's popularity, the central bank is anticipating a high demand for the newly printed bank notes bearing his signature.

"Huwag silang mag-madali dahil sooner or later maraming marami silang makukuha na may pirma ni President Duterte," Malic said.

"Ang pera nila na may signature ni President Aquino ay kaparehas lang naman ng halaga ng perang may signature ni President Duterte," she added. —John Ted Cordero/NB, GMA News
