LIST: Bank, mall operating hours during the Holy Week

(Updated 6:14 p.m., April 1) Banks and malls all over the country are scheduled to halt their operations during the Holy Week, particularly on Holy Thursday and Good Friday.

Listed here are the bank and mall operation schedules during the Holy Week.

Banks closed on Holy Thursday and Good Friday:

• Banco de Oro (normal banking operations to resume on Monday, April 6)
• Bank of the Philippine Islands
• Chinabank
• Philippine Veterans Bank
• United Coconut Planters Bank
• Philippine National Bank
• Security Bank (closed until Black Saturday except its branch at Ninoy Aquino International Airport)

The 100 branches of Metrobank will be open on Black Saturday:

ATM terminals nationwide will be open throughout the Holy Week. Accounts can also still be accessed through the banks' online portal. All banks will be back to its normal operations on April 6.

All Ayala Malls will be closed on Holy Thursday, according to its official Twitter account on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the malls open on Holy Thursday are:

• SM Baguio (restaurants only)
• SM Mall of Asia (restaurants only)
• Robinsons Place Antipolo
• Robinsons Luisita (Tarlac)
• Summit Ridge Promenade (Tagaytay)
• Robinsons Place Malolos (Bulacan)
• Robinsons Place Pangasinan (Calasao)
• Robinsons Place Palawan (Puerto Princessa)
• Robinsons Place Santiago
• Robinsons Starmills Pampanga (San Fernando)

The malls open on Good Friday are:

• SM Baguio (restaurants only)
• SM Mall of Asia (restaurants only)
• Robinsons Place Antipolo
• Robinsons Luisita (Tarlac)
• Summit Ridge Promenade (Tagaytay)

Malls open on Black Saturday are:

• All SM Malls (SM Baguio, Calamba, Fairview, and Novaliches to have longer operating hours from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m.)
• All Robinsons malls will be open during the usual hours
• All Ayala Malls (TrinoMa, UP Town Center, Centrio Mall, Market! Market!, Fairview Terraces, Alabang Town Center, Glorietta with regular mall hours).

All SM Malls will revert to normal operations on Easter Sunday. The same goes for all Ayala Malls.



Plan ahead

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas reminded the public to plan ahead before leaving the city during the long weekend.

Those who are planning to go out-of-town should have enough cash to get them through the Holy Week.

Before leaving the city, one should also take note of the bills and their due dates to avoid disconnection or penalties.

If using an ATM terminal, inspect the ATM card slot and the keypad to avoid scams.

"'Yung pasukan ng card, usually may flashing light. So 'pag nawawala ang flashing light, baka may nakapatong... Tingnan mo kung medyo gumagalaw 'yung ATM cover or 'yung ATM PIN pad.
