Petron, Shell raise fuel prices anew

For the second time in a week, oil companies raised the prices of their fuel products. Petron and Shell implemented on Thursday morning another round of price hikes that covered regular and unleaded gas, diesel, and kerosene.

In an advisory, Petron said its price increases include:

- P1.20 per liter for premium and unleaded gas
- P1.30 per liter for regular gas
- P1.40 per liter for diesel
- P1.50 per liter for kerosene

Petron said the price adjustments for Thursday covered non-calamity areas.

It said the price adjustments will take effect at 12:01 a.m. Friday in areas under a state of calamity in past weeks due to recent heavy rain and floods.

Petron had effected a price freeze in those areas.

"This reflects movements in the international oil market," it said.

A separate report on dzBB radio said Shell implemented similar price hikes effective 6 a.m. Thursday.  — ELR, GMA News
