Fuel prices seen to go up next week

After rounds of rollbacks, motorists should brace for a hike in the prices of fuel products next week, according to projections by Unioil Petroleum Philippines.

In its fuel price forecast for August 31 to September 6, 2021 trading week, Unioil said the price per liter of diesel is expected to go up by P0.60 to P0.70.

Gasoline prices, meanwhile, may increase by P0.20 to P0.30 per liter.

Fuel firms usually announce price adjustments every Monday, which will be implemented on the following day.

Effective August 24, Tuesday, oil companies implemented a price decrease for gasoline by P0.80 to P1.00 per liter and P0.75 per liter for diesel.

Year-to-date adjustments stand at a total net increase of P12.45 per liter for gasoline and P9.35 per liter for diesel. -MDM, GMA News
