DOT accredits 1st agri-tourism site in southern Negros circuit

The Department of Tourism (DOT) recently accredited the first agri-tourism site in the Southern Negros Circuit and is located in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental.

PeacePond, dubbed as the "seaside haven," received its certificate of accreditation from the Tourism department this month.

Present in the turn-over of the certificate were the members of PeacePond Farmers Association (PFA), and representatives from the Municipal Tourism Office and DOT-Western Visayas.

PeacePond is being managed by the PFA which is composed of small farmers, fishermen, and housewives.

The agri-tourism site boasts of its organic crops and "feed-free" bangus and mud crabs, collectively produced through the Bayanihan method it promotes in doing agricultural work. — MDM, GMA News
