Ayala Corp. promotes next-gen leaders

Ayala Corp. next generation leaders

Ayala Corp. (AC), the country’s oldest conglomerate, on Monday announced the promotions of four next-generation leaders, who will focus on areas of the group’s business strategically important to its future.

In a statement, AC announced the appointment of Mariana Beatriz Zobel de Ayala and Mark Robert Uy as managing directors, and Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala and Jaime Urquijo as executive directors.

Mariana will lead the transformation of Ayala Land Inc.’s (ALI) leasing business across its retail, hospitality, and office pillars, including the reinvention of flagship and core malls.

Mark will lead the transformation of the group’s business portfolio, with efforts to be more concentrated while remaining diversified. This will include looking after the longer-term future of existing businesses, while exploring new units that are aligned with the group.

Jaime Alfonso will play a leadership role in governance, and will continue to focus on boosting the growth of Ayala’s New Energy Vehicle (NEV) platform ACMobility.

Jaime will lead the internal transformation of AC, with a focus on greater synergy between the holding company and the different companies within the group.

“Each of our senior promotees represent Ayala at its best — purposeful, forward looking, professional, engaged,” AC president and chief executive officer Cezar Consing said.

“They will help make for an even better Ayalka as we look ahead to completing two centuries of building businesses that enable people to thrive,” he added.

Also part of AC’s long-term succession plan are the appointments of Carl Raymond Cruz as deputy CEO of Globe Telecom, Margarita Dy as Ayala Land president and CEO, Erry Hardianto as AC Logistics president and CEO, Antonio Lambino II as Ayala Foundation president, Franchette Acosta as AC chief legal officer, and Juan Carlos Syquia as AC deputy chief financial officer. —Jon Viktor D.
