GCash partners with BCRemit to allow OFWs in UK, EU, US remit straight to PH

Globe-backed mobile GCash has partnered with United Kingdom-based fintech firm BCRemit allowing overseas Filipinos in Europe as well as in the United States (US) to send money back to the Philippines with ease.
In a statement issued Wednesday, GCash said beginning this month, Filipinos in the United Kingdom (US), Spain, other European Union (EU) countries, and the US could send money straight to GCash accounts in the Philippines through the BCRemit app or website.
Moreover, overseas Filipinos could also add cash to their own GCash accounts via BCRemit’s platform.
“We at BCRemit are thrilled with our partnership with GCash. This will give our customers in the UK, Spain, and the EU as well as the US direct access to GCash. Our partnership aligns with our mission to use technology to improve the financial inclusion of Filipino migrant workers and their beneficiaries by providing them affordable, fast, and convenient money transfer services,” said BCRemit founder Oliver Calma.
"At GCash, we are dedicated to making financial services accessible to all Filipinos, regardless of their location," said Paul Albano, general manager of GCash International.
"This partnership with BCRemit strengthens our ability to offer secure and affordable remittance solutions, enabling OFs to easily support their families back home,” said Albano.
On Tuesday, GCash announced a partnership with Florida-based cross-border money transfer company Viamericas to allow Filipinos in North America, particularly the US and Canada, to remit straight to the GCash accounts of their recipients in the Philippines in real-time. — Ted Cordero/RSJ/BM, GMA Integrated News
