CIMB aims for 10 million users in 2025, launches 10% cashback promo

Digital-only commercial bank CIMB Bank Philippines announced on Monday plans to expand its customer base to 10 million by 2025, targeting an additional one million users through new services, including a 10% cashback promotion.

CIMB Philippines CEO Vijay Manoharan said the bank aims to grow its active users from the current 9.1 million by enhancing its mobile app with new features.

It also plans to increase its loan customers to 4.6 million to 4.7 million this year, up from 4 million in 2024.

Among its latest promotions is the 10% cashback offer under CIMB Pay, available until the end of the month. Transactions of at least P500 qualify for a 10% cashback, capped at P200.

The bank recently launched “Own My Goals,” a service that lets users set deposit targets and earn rewards.

Additionally, it plans to expand its remittance services in March, currently accessible to overseas Filipinos in 25 countries.

Looking ahead, CIMB aims to tap small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and the affluent segment with new offerings, including investment products covering equities, digital tokens, and insurance.

Last year, the bank announced its goal to reach 10 million users and double its balance sheet within three years. CIMB closed 2024 with P800 billion in transactions and P100 billion in loan disbursements. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
