Singapore Airlines to fly to Iloilo via Scoot starting April

Singapore Airlines, through its low-cost arm Scoot, is mounting direct flights between Singapore and Iloilo starting in April as it expands its presence in the Philippines.
At a press briefing in Taguig City on Thursday, Singapore Airlines general manager for the Philippines Liwei Tai said the Singapore-Iloilo flights, which will begin on April 14, will fly four times weekly.
Scoot also flies to other Philippine destinations: Manila, Clark, Davao, and Cebu.
Tai said the airline is seeing a demand for both Singaporeans and Filipinos going to and from Iloilo and Singapore.
“I think both ways. So for Singaporeans, because we serve so many destinations around the world—going to Iloilo as a leisure destination [because] there are beautiful beaches nearby—and also serving the people from Iloilo and nearby [areas] going to Singapore and all around the world,” she said.
“I think it's a good chance to really serve both sides of the market,” she added.
Tai said Singapore Airlines is looking for “any other opportunities; definitely we want to further grow our services here.”
“It depends on opportunities as they come along... we are always happy and committed to expanding our services here and really serving the market better,” she said, adding that “this is a market with a lot of potential.”
Singapore Airlines also launched its partnership promotion with EastWest Bank.
