Cebu Pacific ends 2024 with 91-aircraft commercial fleet

Gokongwei-led budget carrier Cebu Pacific is closing the year with the delivery of its 17th aircraft for 2024, bringing its commercial fleet to 91.

In a news release, Cebu Pacific said it received the delivery of a new A321neo aircraft, which touched down Manila on December 24.

The delivery of the 236-seater aircraft, it said, serves as a milestone for the airline as it aims to enhance its operational capacity and expand further its network.

“The arrival of this new aircraft reinforces our readiness to meet the rising travel demand and our commitment to enhancing connectivity for our passengers in 2025 and beyond,” said Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific president and chief commercial officer.

Cebu Pacific said Airbus NEOs are the latest-generation aircraft that burn 15% less fuel per flight and produce less noise compared to the previous generation.

The reduction in fuel consumption leads to a corresponding reduction in aircraft carbon emissions, the airline added.

On October 2, Cebu Pacific signed a landmark purchase agreement with Airbus and Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, for up to 152 A321neo aircraft, equipped with Pratt & Whitney GTF engines.

The acquisition is considered as the largest in Philippine aviation history with an approximate value of $24 billion or P1.4 trillion based on list prices.
