UE opens 3-year college degree programs in business

UE opens 3-year college degree programs in business

The University of the East (UE) announced Monday that its business students in Manila and Caloocan campuses can now earn a college degree in three academic years through its newly accelerated baccalaureate programs.

With this, students taking Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) major in Business Management, Financial Management, Marketing Management, or Business Economics in UE College of Business Administration (CBA) can complete their studies in six semesters, including summer classes each in first and second years.

“We want to enable our students to earn their degrees sooner so they can begin their careers early and seize opportunities ahead toward building a brighter future,” UE president and Chief Academic Officer Zosimo Battad said in a statement.

Likewise, the fast-tracked UE CBA program of Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting (BSMA) also allows students to earn a degree in three and a half years or in seven semesters, with two summer classes in second and third years.

BSMA's subject offerings in the first two academic years are also aligned with UE's four-year program of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA), enabling qualified students to shift to the latter in accordance with its retention policy.

“UE's accelerated baccalaureate programs reflect our commitment to aligning with the government's vision for our youth to spend fewer years in getting tertiary education without compromising education quality,” Battad said.

According to the university, its accelerated business courses adhere to the pertinent memorandum orders of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on required tracks, subjects, number of units, and other relevant policies.—Giselle Ombay/AOL, GMA Integrated News
