Italpinas, Dusit International to develop hotels in Mindanao

Listed property firm Italpinas Development Corp., through its subsidiary IDC Prime, inked deals with Thailand’s hotel giant Dusit International with the aim to develop and operate two Dusit hotels in Mindanao.

In a press release on Tuesday, Italpinas said the agreements signed by IDC Prime with Dusit Thani Public Company Ltd. and Dusit Thani Philippines Inc. would ''see Dusit operate hotels in two of IDC’s upcoming developments.”

One of the two hotels, Dusit Princess Moena, will be located within Italpinas’ Moena Mountain Estate in the uplands of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.

Dusit Princess Moena is expected to open in the last quarter of 2029.

The proposed 1.5-hectare mixed-use development will be composed of an eight-storey green building as well as a grouping of luxury villas, which are expected to maximize fresh air and sweeping views at its hilltop site in Barangay Dahilayan.

The second hotel, Dusit Princess Firenze, is also scheduled to open in the last quarter of 2029. It will be located within Italpinas’ Firenze Green Tower project in Cagayan de Oro.

The proposed 14-storey mixed-use green building will consist of commercial, residential, and hotel areas, as well as first-class amenities and parking.

“We are delighted to strengthen our presence in the Philippines with these two remarkable projects,” said Gilles Cretallaz, chief operating officer of Dusit International.

“In IDC, we have found a partner who shares our values and vision for sustainable growth. The locations selected by IDC for its projects reflect exceptional foresight into the Philippines’ evolving growth story. We are excited and honored to collaborate with them, contributing to shaping the future of these destinations in the most positive way possible,” said Prateek Kumar, senior vice president for operations of Dusit International.

Dusit’s portfolio currently includes 301 properties operating across 18 countries, including 57 properties under Dusit Hotels and Resorts and 244 luxury villas under Elite Havens, which is dubbed the leading provider of luxury villa rentals in Asia. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
