Petron announces LPG price hike effective December 1

Consumers should brace for heftier household expenses next month in time for the Christmas holidays amid a hike in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices.

In an advisory on Saturday, Petron Corporation announced that it would raise the price of its LPG by P1.20 per kilogram.

The adjustment is equivalent to an increase of P13.20 on the price of a typical 11-kilogram LPG cylinder.

Petron's price hike will take effect on December 1, 2024 at 12:01 a.m.

"This reflects the international contract price of LPG for the month of December," the fuel retailer said.

According to the price monitoring report of the Department of Energy (DOE) for the month of November, the prevailing price of an 11-kilogram tank of household LPG in Metro Manila retails at a common price of P1,086.

Prior to the impending price hike, the prevailing price range is from P860 to as high as P1,140 per tank. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
