2GO resumes operations after recent storms

Sy-led logistics and sea transport provider 2GO said Tuesday it had resumed operations following the tropical cyclones that hit the country between late October and November, restoring disrupted supply chains and ensuring the efficient movement of goods and people.

“As a trusted partner for Filipino businesses, the company thrives in the competitive logistics landscape. Its extensive freight and cargo operations are integral to supporting our stakeholders’ supply chains, despite occasional severe weather disturbances,” Sharon Musngi-Ngo, Business Unit Head of 2GO Sea Solutions, said in a statement.

“We understand the crucial role logistics plays in the success of businesses and the well-being of communities. At 2GO, we remain committed to being a reliable partner for the Filipino people, delivering excellence, especially during challenging times. Together, we strive to build a brighter, more connected future for the Philippines,” Musngi-Ngo said.

After the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) cleared shipping routes, she said 2GO swiftly resumed operations, enabling the transport of 3,000 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent unit) of essential goods, keeping businesses stay operational that support communities nationwide.

“2GO prides itself on being more than just a logistics provider—it’s a partner in progress and a driver of national growth,” Musngi-Ngo said.

The 2GO official said the company moves 5,000 TEUs of goods weekly, offering tailored solutions to meet the evolving needs of businesses.

Apart from shipping, 2GO also provides ROPAX or roll-on/roll-off passenger service with berthing and departure privileges at 19 key ports.

The company’s passenger travel service books an average of 23,000 passengers weekly.

“As we connect people and businesses across the Philippines, we also help entrepreneurs grow by supporting their journeys—whether they’re moving goods or tapping into new markets,” said Francis Chua, Business Unit Head of 2GO Travel. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
