Indonesia’s ice cream, milk tea Ai-CHA eyes expansion in PH

Popular Indonesian ice cream and milk tea franchise Ai-CHA is seeking to expand its footprint in the Philippines, banking on the popularity of sweet drinks among Filipinos.

At the sidelines of the 15th Philippine SME Business Expo (PHILSME) in Pasay City on Friday, Ai-CHA representative for Franchise and Business Development Mart Adrian Antonio told GMA Integrated News that the Indonesian brand was launched in the Philippines last September.

Antonio said Ai-CHA has two branches located in Old Sta. Mesa, Manila and Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.

“But we plan to have 10 stores by the end of 2025… We’re planning to open [another one] in BGC, mostly SM malls, Robinsons [malls], and outside malls as well… all in Metro Manila,” he said.

“We are really happy to introduce Ai-CHA to the Philippine market. Ai-CHA is an ice cream and milk tea shop that we wanted to [bring in] the Philippine market with affordable prices,” he added.

Antonio said that Ai-CHA’s “unique proposition” was its low pricing, “but at the same time the quality of ice cream and milk tea is really good so it can really be loved by the Philippines market.”

Since its founding in 2019, Ai-CHA has expanded its reach into various Southeast Asian markets which include, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Laos, Cambodia, and the Philippines.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
