LIST: Tropical Storm Kristine forces PH banks to temporarily close


A number of bank branches were temporarily closed on Wednesday, Oct. 23, due to inclement weather conditions brought about by Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami).

In separate advisories, lenders said that although select branches were temporarily shuttered, automated teller machines (ATMs) and online platforms would remain available.

Below is a list of banks that have released advisories as of posting time:

Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI)

Select branches temporarily closed, while online and mobile banking channels remain available.

 

BDO Unibank

Select branches temporarily closed, while BDO Pay, BDO Online App, and ATMs will remain available.

Land Bank of the Philippines

Some branches temporarily closed, while some operating on shortened banking hours.

Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. (Metrobank)

Some branches temporarily closed, while ATM and CAM services, Metrobank Online, and the Metrobank App remain available.

Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC)

Some branches temporarily closed, while RCBC Pulz remains available.

In its 11 a.m. bulletin on Wednesday, state weather bureau PAGASA raised tropical cyclone wind signal (TCWS) No. 2 over 31 areas in Luzon, as Kristine maintained its strength and accelerated while it heads to Isabela.

Kristine was last located 200 kms. east of Casiguran, Aurora, packing maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center, and gustiness of up to 105 kph, while moving north northwestward at 30 kph.
