Ambassador of Israel to PH, His Excellency Ilan Fluss, visits GMA Network Center

Ambassador of Israel to the Philippines, His Excellency Ilan Fluss, visited the GMA Network Center in Quezon City on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

He was welcomed by GMA Network Inc. President and CEO, Mr. Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., along with Executive Vice President and CFO, Mr. Felipe S. Yalong, Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group, President and CEO of GMA Films, Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, Senior Vice President and Head of GMA Integrated News, Regional TV, and Synergy, Mr. Oliver Victor B. Amoroso, Senior Vice President and Head of GMA Entertainment Group, Ms. Lilybeth Rasonable, First Vice President, Public Service and Community Relations, GMA Network Inc., Ms. Rikki Escudero-Catibog, First Vice President of GMA International, Mr. Joseph Francia, and Vice President and Head of GMA Corporate Affairs and Communications, Ms. Angela Javier Cruz.

Deputy Ambassador Ms. Ester Buzgan and Press Officer Ms. Danica Marollano-Reglos accompanied Ambassador Fluss during his visit.

Ambassador Fluss also sat for the GMA Integrated News Interviews with award-winning broadcast journalist Pia Arcangel. The one-on-one interview will air in the Network's flagship newscast 24 Oras.

During his meeting with the ambassador, Mr. Duavit underscored the relationship between Israel and the Philippines, noting how the the Middle Eastern country's innovations and initiatives contribute Philippine development.

"The video [showed by the Israeli embassy] speaks volumes of the great cooperation, the partnership, and the bond our nations share… Israel remains one of our trusted bilateral partners in the Middle East region and that the friendship between our nations predates the establishment of the Israeli state," he said.

"GMA Network is a partner in the enhancement of understanding between our nations... For our part, we will continue to strengthen Philippine-Israeli ties through responsible, unbiased, and timely delivery of accurate news and information," Mr. Duavit said.

Ambassador Fluss said that since his last visit in the 90s, the Philippines has opened up more opportunities for innovation and development.

"I think we can do so much… It's not only about technology. It's about changing the mindset.
