Over 50,000 seats sold ahead of Undas holidays —AirAsia

AirAsia Philippines reports a surge in flight bookings for both domestic and international travel ahead of the upcoming All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day.

In a news release, AirAsia Philippines said it recorded more than 50,000 seats sold for the travel period October 30 to November 3, “with numbers expected to rise further in the coming week.”

The airline attributed the uptick in bookings to travelers planning ahead and securing their travel early to save more and avoid any last-minute hassles.

The top destinations booked include a mix of domestic and international locations, namely Boracay, Cebu, Taipei, Bohol, Tacloban, Puerto Princesa, Incheon, Narita, IloIlo, and Bangkok.

“While the season is traditionally observed to commemorate departed loved ones, we’ve seen that some guests visit early, allowing them to use the All Saints’ and All Souls' Day holidays for leisure travel,” said AirAsia Philippines Communications and Public Affairs head Steve Dailisan.

“Based on our top 10 routes, beach destinations remain a favorite for domestic travelers, while countries that offer a mix of shopping, food, and cultural experiences continue to excite our international guests,” said Dailisan.

To accommodate the influx of holiday travelers, the AirAsia Philippines spokesperson said the airline has increased its manpower at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminals 2 and 3.
