Zoho expanding presence in Philippines

Indian multinational tech company Zoho Corp. is expanding its footprint in the Philippines, banking on the country’s digital economic potential.

At a recent media roundtable, Zoho vice president and general manager for Asia Pacific Gibu Mathew said that “from an expansion initiative perspective, we are actually increasing the number of activities that we have been doing here.”

“Training is one aspect of it. Increasing in terms of headcount,” Mathew said.

The Zoho executive said, citing data from Statista, that the company is expecting that digital technologies could unlock $101.3 billion in annual economic value by 2030 in the Philippines.

“As Zoho continues to innovate with new product features and AI enhancements, it remains crucial for us to engage customers actively, ensuring their employees are equipped with the necessary skills to maximize the benefits of our solutions,” he said.

This year, Zoho has intensified its training and outreach initiatives to enhance the technological capabilities of employees in Philippine businesses.

“Well, so we have been doing quite a few activities in the Philippines to support our customers and to grow the market share we have here,” Mathew said.

“So in terms of numbers specifically, I'm not able to share actual numbers in terms of investments and revenue and other aspects. Being a private company, we actually keep it confidential. However, I can say that we have been growing at over 20% since last year, and we are finding very interesting use cases for what customers need locally here,” he added. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
