GCash, Angkas partner for seamless in-app payment

Angkas has partnered with GCash to add the mobile wallet as a direct payment option for its users.

In a news release on Wednesday, GCash announced it was tapped by Angkas for “easier, more convenient, and more secure cashless transactions.”

With the partnership, users of Angkas can directly link their GCash wallets as a preferred mode of payment in the motorcycle taxi app.

The mobile wallet said commuters simply need to tap “Cash” on the Angkas platform to change the mode of payment, then select the Link your GCash option to pay directly using the GCash wallet.

The next step would be the entry of the user’s mobile number, one-time PIN (OTP), and MPIN, then tap “Link.”

Once finished, GCash said a pop-up will appear on a user’s screen to indicate the successful linking of the GCash wallet to the Angkas app.

“As long-standing partners, especially at the height of the pandemic, GCash and Angkas have been strengthening their strategic collaboration as they share the same vision of helping Filipinos have better and easier experiences for their daily transactions,” said Ren-Ren Reyes, president and CEO of GCash mobile wallet operator G-Xchange Inc.

Angkas CEO George Royeca, for his part, expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with other homegrown Filipino businesses, calling the partnership with GCash a “dream collaboration.”
