PAL to relaunch Clark-Siargao flights in December

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines on Monday said it is set to relaunch its flights between Clark and Siargao in December, citing the increasing popularity of what is touted as the country’s surf capital.

According to PAL, flights will be reopened on December 3, 2024, with flights scheduled every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Flights will depart Clark at 11 a.m. and arrive in Siargao at 1:05 p.m., while flights from Siargao will depart at 1:35 p.m. and arrive in Clark at 3:40 p.m.

“As Siargao’s popularity soars, we stay committed to supporting the island’s tourism growth in a sustainable way for the benefit of its residents and local businesses, while providing an enhanced flying experience for our passengers,” PAL Express president Rabbi Vincent Ang said.

The carrier also operates twice daily flights to Siargao from Manila and Cebu.

The Clark-Siargao flights will be on top of PAL’s daily flights from the Clark International Airport to Cebu, four weekly flights to Basco and Busuanga, and thrice weekly flights to Caticlan.

PAL Holdings Inc., which operates Philippine Airlines, posted a 92% growth in its 2023 bottom line to $379 million from $197 million in the previous year, which it attributed to growth in operations and passenger traffic both internationally and domestically.

Ng in January said the company is set to ink a temporary lease agreement for two wide-body aircraft this year, following the double-digit growth in passengers. —KG, GMA Integrated News
