PhilHealth to recommend to Marcos cut in contribution rates


PhilHealth Marcos decrease in premium contributions

 

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) will recommend to President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. the reduction of members' contributions to the fund.

PhilHealth president and chief executive officer Emmanuel Rufino Ledesma thus said when Sen. Christopher "Bong" Go asked if it would recommend the lowering of premium contributions to Marcos.

"Actually po, yes. Well, especially after this very nice hearing po that just happened, we will do it immediately po," Ledesma said. 

"As early as this afternoon I will convene our team and we will recommend a reduction in the premium rates, and contribution rates to President Marcos," he added.

The Senate committee conducted the hearing on the P89.9 billion excess PhilHealth funds that have been reverted to the government's unprogrammed funds. —NB, GMA Integrated News
