Cebu Pacific offers Cebu-Osaka flights with P1 promo fare

Budget carrier Cebu Pacific on Monday announced one-way promotional base fare of P1 for its flights between Cebu and Osaka, with operations scheduled to start on October 15, 2024.

In an advisory, Cebu Pacific said the promotional fares — exclusive of fees and surcharges — will be available until July 31, 2024, covering flights from October 15, 2024 to March 31, 2025.

The flights will be available four times weekly, every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, adding to the flights the carrier already operates between Cebu and Narita.

“With Japan being a top-of-mind destination for many Filipino travelers, the new route will surely give them the opportunity to visit one of the country’s dynamic cities,” Cebu Pacific president and chief commercial officer Xander Lao said.

“We also hope that this launch can encourage more travelers from Japan to explore the beauty of the Philippines,” he added.

Cebu Pacific earlier this month said it inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Airbus that covers firm orders for up to 102 A321neo and 50 A320neo family purchase rights, which will be powered by Pratt & Whitney GTF engines.

The company said in May it expects to close the year with 95 aircraft, which will boost its full-year 2024 seat capacity by 12% to 15% compared with 2023.

The 95 aircraft will be made up of 16 ATRs, 51 Airbus NEOs, and 28 Airbus CEOs.

The carrier ended the first quarter of the year with P2.24 billion in net earnings, doubling the P1.08 billion in the same period last year as total revenues jumped by 21% to P25.3 billion.

Cebu Pacific currently flies to 35 domestic and 25 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
