DigiPlus makes it to maiden Fortune Southeast Asia 500 list
Digital gaming and entertainment firm DigiPlus Interactive Corp., the company behind BingoPlus, is among the 38 Philippine companies that were included in the maiden Fortune Southeast Asia 500 list.
In a statement, DigiPlus said it was included on the list as it posted an overall revenue valuation of $490.2 million and $73.4 million in profits.
The digital gaming firm was ranked 482nd on the list.
Fortune, a global multi-platform media company, ranked the largest companies in Southeast Asia by their total revenues for the 2023 fiscal year.
San Miguel Corp., which placed ninth, was the lone Filipino company in the top 10.
“We thank Fortune for recognizing the promising growth and development of the region by introducing the first Fortune Southeast Asia 500 list. We are honored to be a part of this milestone,” said DigiPlus president Andy Tsui.
In 2023, DigiPlus said it recorded P27.3 billion in revenue, up three times year-on-year, mainly attributed to the growth of its bingo platform, BingoPlus, and its sportsbook app, ArenaPlus.
The company’s net income rose to P4.1 billion in the same year, driven by its digital retail segment and new platforms.
“We intend to sustain our growth momentum by continuing to invest in innovation and new technologies to enhance the user experience and adding new digital offerings traditionally well-loved by Filipinos. By delivering innovative, fun, and accessible digital offerings, we aim to continue revolutionizing the entertainment space in the Philippines,” said Tsui.
This year, DigiPlus earmarked about P2 billion in capital expenditures to bankroll technological upgrades across its platforms as it targets to capture more users in the Philippines.
The company said it is continuously ramping up its efforts to diversify its portfolio as it introduced BingoPlus Poker and Tongits+ to its roster of digital entertainment platforms this year. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
