Korean embassy bares more credit cards for simplified visa application

The Korean embassy in the Philippines has announced that more credit cards may soon be used for the simplified visa application process.

According to a visa announcement, the embassy announced that Korea extended its simplified visa application process to the holders of the following credit cards from July 22 to December 31.

Eligible applicants may also extend their eligibility to their parents, spouses, minor children, adult children who are students, and their spouse’s parents, while supplementary card holders are excluded.

Applicants only need to submit an original Certificate of Employment, a copy of the front of their credit card with complete information, a copy of their latest 3 months credit card statements, and a proof of relationship for other family members if needed, instead of the required financial statements.

“Please be informed that the bank documents are the only exempted or substituted documents in the said simplification process and all other general documents must still be submitted,” read the embassy notice.

In January, the Korean Embassy announced simplified visa application processes for credit card holders, professional license holders, elected politicians, and government officials.

In the first announcement, the simplified process for credit card holders was only limited to holders of the BDO Gold and Elite credit cards. —NB, GMA Integrated News
