inDrive gets LTFRB nod to operate as TNVS

Mobility and urban services platform inDrive said the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has accredited them  to serve as a transport network company (TNC) in the Philippines.

In a statement on Tuesday, inDrive said it will activate its application in five initial cities: Bacolod, Baguio, Iloilo City, Cagayan de Oro, and Butuan, where it is now running a driver registration campaign that will last until the end of the year.

The company said only drivers who have all the necessary accreditations will be onboarded and will be given fuel vouchers and waived service fees when accepting rides for the initial phase of the rollout.

According to inDrive, passengers will be given the option to select their preferred driver and choose options based on driver rating, vehicle model, and estimated time of arrival.

Meanwhile, drivers will be given the option to choose between ride requests — which include the fare, the pickup point, and the destination — and will be able to accept or ignore them without penalties.

“We are thrilled to receive official accreditation from the LTFRB, a testament to our unwavering commitment to safety, reliability, and innovation,” inDrive Asia-Pacific director Roman Ermoshin said in an email.

“As we embark on this exciting journey, we look forward to fulfilling the transportation needs of Filipinos, providing them with more choices, and contributing to the evolving landscape of urban mobility,” he added.

Outside the Philippines, inDrive has presence in over 700 cities in 45 countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.—RF, GMA Integrated News
