Diesel and kerosene prices up Tuesday, gasoline unchanged
Motorists will have to pay more for diesel and kerosene starting Tuesday, as firms announced a price hike following four straight weeks of cuts. Gasoline prices will be unchanged.
In separate advisories, Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Petron Corp., Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp., and Seaoil Philippines Corp. said they will increase prices per liter of diesel by P0.30, and kerosene by P0.65.
Cleanfuel, Flying V, Petro Gazz, Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc., and Unioil Petroleum Philippines Inc. will implement the same changes excluding kerosene which they do not carry.
The changes will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, for all the firms, except for Caltex which will adjust prices at 12:01 a.m., and Cleanfuel at 4:01 p.m. the same day.
The latest adjustments are in line with projections made by the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Oil Industry Management Bureau (OIMB) last week, citing supply cuts in production of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and their partners.
Firms last week rolled back prices per liter of gasoline by P0.75, diesel by P0.65, and kerosene by P0.60.
Latest data available from the DOE show that price adjustments stood at a year-to-date net increase of P12.30 per liter for gasoline, P5.70 per liter for diesel, and P1.09 per liter for kerosene at P1.09 per liter for kerosene as of November 21, 2023. —KG/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
