PAL resumes daily Manila-Tuguegarao flights
Flag carrier Philippines Airlines (PAL) has announced the resumption of its daily flights between Manila and Tuguegarao City, the economic capital of Cagayan Valley.
In a news release on Tuesday, PAL said its Manila-Tuguegarao-Manila, which was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, resumed daily operations on October 28, 2023.
The first flight took off from Manila at 8:45 a.m. and arrived in Tuguegarao at 9:43 a.m., carrying 170 passengers and five infants.
The return flight departed Tuguegarao at 10:54 a.m. and touched down Manila at 11:42 a.m., carrying 67 passengers and one infant.
Resuming daily operations of the Manila-Tuguegarao-Manila flights, PAL said its flight PR 2014 will depart Manila at 9:05 a.m. and will arrive in Tuguegarao at 10:10 a.m., while the return flight PR 2015 will leave Tuguegarao at 10:50 a.m. and will touch down Manila at 11:50 a.m.
The flag carrier said its 180-seater Airbus A320 — with Comfort Class (12 seats) and Regular Economy Class (168 seats) — serves the route.
"We look forward to serving Tuguegarao and Cagayan people with daily flights to and from Manila to strengthen air connectivity to boost travel between the vibrant heart of the Cagayan Valley region and other tourist and business centers in the Philippines,” said PAL Express president Rabbi Vincent Ang.
For his part, Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba expressed optimism that the resumption of operations will further enhance tourism and economic opportunities in the province.
“This will stimulate tourism and the economy. It will also open possible international and connecting flights in the future to other countries,” said Mamba. —Ted Cordero/KBK, GMA Integrated News
