AirAsia Philippines expects 500K seats for int'l flights sold in Q4

Low-cost carrier AirAsia Philippines is expecting strong passenger bookings for its international destination in the last three months of 2023, banking on the holiday rush among Filipinos.

In a statement, AirAsia Philippines said over 300,000 seats were sold, as of October 2, for travel in the next 90 days to international destinations such as Taipei, Incheon, Osaka, Narita, Hong Kong, and Bangkok.

“We see our performance on international flights increasing to half a million seats sold before the end of December 2023…We hope to flourish in the Asia Pacific next year as we open more destinations following the increase in aircraft fleet,” said AirAsia Philippines Communications and Public Affairs country head Steve Dailisan.

AirAsia Philippines said it opened the month of October with its Manila to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Taipei, Seoul, Tokyo, and Macao flights commencing daily from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.

The airline added that its Manila to Guangzhou and Shenzhen flights continue to fly out of NAIA Terminal 3 four times weekly; while flights to Kota Kinabalu, Kaohsiung, and Shanghai continue to depart and arrive thrice weekly.

AirAsia is also planning to open additional routes to Japan and China via the Clark International Airport, Mactan-Cebu International Airport, and Kalibo International Airport.

The airline said it is offering its Winter Deals for booking from October 2 to 8, 2023 for travels from October 2, 2023 to April 30, 2024.

Winter Deals offer a one-way base fare of P880 to P4,590 depending on the destination, AirAsia Philippines said.

“We invite our guests to take advantage of ongoing sales as tickets bought under existing promos will no longer be affected by any future fuel surcharge,” said Dailisan.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
