PNB names business tycoon Lucio Tan as chairman emeritus
The Philippine National Bank (PNB) on Monday bared that business tycoon Lucio Tan was named as chairman emeritus of the bank.
The PNB also said director Carmen Tan would be part of the bank’s Advisory Board.
In the past 20 years, Tan supervised the operations of the bank, including the completion of the PNB-Allied Bank merger in 2013.
The merger has been considered as a milestone that elevated PNB to its current status as one of the country's premier privately-owned commercial banks.
During Tan’s tenure, the PNB also expanded its global footprint, catering to the financial needs of millions of Filipinos overseas.
The PNB also announced the designations of Atty. Eusebio V. Tan and Mr. Chester Y. Luy as new members of the board of directors.
The PNB said the appointments “are a significant step in aligning PNB's leadership to better serve our customers and stakeholders.”
“They reinforce PNB's commitment to achieving long-term objectives, ensuring sustained profitability under the guidance of a highly experienced and professional leadership team,” the PNB said.—Anna Felicia Bajo/AOL, GMA Integrated News
