PAL offers 10% discount for international students

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Thursday announced it is now offering special discounted fares for international students.

In a news release, PAL said its Global Student Plus program offers a 10% discount on one-way or roundtrip fares on applicable international routes within its network.

Eligible to avail of the special discount are international students aged 12 to 31. 

PAL said international students are students who undertake all or part of their education in a country other than their own, and move to that country for the purpose of studying.

The promo period is until December 31, 2023, “for travel until further notice,” the flag carrier said.

“As the Philippines’ flag carrier, we extend our full support to students who wish to study abroad, through our Global Student Plus program. Philippine Airlines hopes to be part of their journeys in fulfilling their dreams for an overseas education, and to be remembered as one of their stepping stones to success,” said PAL vice president for Sales Salvador Britanico Jr.

To avail the discount, PAL said passengers must provide either a valid International Student Identity Card (ISIC), a student visa, or an acceptance letter from the school for verification and must be presented at the time of booking and during check-in at the airport.

Qualified travelers are entitled to an additional free baggage allowance (FBA) of 10 kilos or one piece, whichever is applicable, on top of the allowable FBA, the airline said.
