Gasoline prices up for 7th straight week on Tuesday; diesel and kerosene for 8th
Pump prices of fuel products will be hiked anew on Tuesday, marking the seventh straight week of upward adjustments for gasoline, and the eighth for both diesel and kerosene.
In separate advisories, Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Flying V, Petron Corp., Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. and Seaoil Philippines Corp. said they will hike prices per liter of gasoline by P0.30, diesel by P0.70, and kerosene by P0.80.
Cleanfuel, Petro Gazz, Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc., PTT Philippines Corp., and Unioil Petroleum Philippines Inc. will implement the same changes, excluding kerosene which they do not carry.
The adjustments will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, August 29, for all the firms, except for Cleanfuel which will hike prices at 4:01 p.m., and Caltex at 12:01 a.m. the same day.
Other firms have yet to make similar announcements for the week.
Firms last week hiked prices per liter of gasoline by P1.10, diesel by P0.20, and kerosene by P0.70.
Latest data available from the Department of Energy (DOE) indicate year-to-date net increases of P14.50 per liter for gasoline, P8.80 per liter for diesel, and P5.84 per liter for kerosene as of August 22.—AOL/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
