Gasoline prices up for third straight week Tuesday; kerosene down

Oil firms are set to hike pump prices of gasoline for the third straight week on Tuesday, while rolling back those of kerosene and keeping those of diesel unchanged.

In separate advisories, Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Flying V, Petron Corp., Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. and Seaoil Philippines Corp. said they will hike prices per liter of gasoline by P1.10, while cutting those of kerosene by P0.35 per liter. There will be no changes for diesel.

Cleanfuel, Petro Gazz, Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc., and PTT Philippines Corp. will implement the same adjustments, excluding kerosene which they do not carry.

The changes will take effect at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, for all the firms except for Cleanfuel which will adjust prices at 4:01 p.m. and Caltex at 12:01 a.m. the same day.

Other firms have yet to make similar announcements for the week.

Data from the Department of Energy (DOE) indicate a year-to-date net increase of P5.00 per liter for gasoline, and net decreases of P5.05 per liter for diesel, and P6.40 per liter for kerosene as of May 23.
