Maynilad announces water service interruptions in Metro Manila, Cavite areas

West-zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services announced several areas in Metro Manila and Cavite would experience water supply interruptions starting Tuesday due to emergency high water demand at the Bagbag Reservoir and low water elevation at the Ipo Dam.

According to Chino Gaston’s report on “24 Oras”, water supply in portions of Manila, Caloocan City, Malabon City, Quezon City, Makati City, Parañaque City, and Pasay City would be cut beginning at 8 a.m. of October 11 until 7 p.m.

Also affected are customers in Las Piñas City, Bacoor City, Imus City, and Kawit City in Cavite starting 8 a.m. from October 11 until 11 p.m.

“Humihingi kami ng paumanhin sa abalang dulot nito. Ginagawan na natin ito ng paraan. Lumapit na tayo sa ating government partners para makakuha tayo ng additional releases,” Maynilad Spokesperson Jennifer Rufo said.

(We apologize for the inconvenience. We’re now taking action to resolve it. We’ve already coordinated with our government partners to ask for additional releases.)

Rufo also said Maynilad requested water allocation from Angat Dam and had already coordinated with other concessionaires to ask for a temporary additional water supply.

“Meanwhile, mayroon po tayong naka-deploy na mobile water tankers para makapag-deliver po ito ng libre at malinis na tubig sa affected customers,” she added.

Maynilad advised their customers to wait for further announcements, adding the additional water allocation would be used on Wednesday should their request be granted. — DVM, GMA News
