Marcos meets with P&G, Sutherland officials in US
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Friday (Philippine time) met with some officials of American private companies in New York during his working visit in the United States.
Marcos had a meeting with the executives of Procter & Gamble (P&G), a company that started its operations in the Philippines over 80 years ago and whose first international operations in the Far East were in the Philippines.
At present, the Philippines is the third oldest P&G subsidiary globally.
Meanwhile, Marcos also held a business dialogue with Sutherland Global Services, a company that offers business process transformation through an integrated portfolio of analytics-driven IT services, back-office and customer facing solutions that provide support to the entire customer lifecycle.
Marcos also conducted his first roundtable discussion with the chief executive officers (CEOs) in the Information Technology and Business Process Management (IT-BPM) sector in New York.
The meeting was attended by members of the President’s official delegation and top executives of various US companies in the IT-BPM industry.
The details about the meetings have yet to be provided by Malacañang.
On Thursday, Marcos said the Philippines is on its way to a strong recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and to a robust broad-based growth in the next six years.
“In fact, our projected economic performance in the medium term is expected to surpass our regional neighbors. And therefore, we invite strategic investors from the US to take part in this Philippines economic resurgence,” he said during an economic briefing with the business sector in New York.
“It is our belief that the Philippines is the smart investment choice and the best time to do business with us is now,” Marcos added. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
