Maynilad advises customers to store water amid heavy rains
Maynilad Water Services, Inc. on Tuesday notified its customers to expect supply interruptions because of too much rainfall caused by the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.
In a Facebook post, Maynilad advised customers to store water that they could use in case of emergency service interruptions.
“Strong rains usually cause increased turbidity in the raw water coming from Angat and Ipo Dams, which might constrain us to reduce water production in our treatment plants to ensure the quality of water that you will get,” it said.
Turbidity refers to increased sediment concentrations in the raw water.
PAGASA earlier said that a low pressure area (LPA) and the Habagat will bring rains over parts of the country.
Based on PAGASA’s 4 a.m. weather forecast, LPA was estimated at 420 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora at 3 a.m., while Habagat will affect western sections of southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. — Mel Matthew Doctor/BM, GMA News
