Apple to contribute to post-Odette relief, recovery, rebuild in Philippines, Malaysia
Apple Inc will provide relief assistance and recovery efforts for the victims of Typhoon Odette in the Philippines, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced on Tuesday.
Cook said Apple Inc. vowed to contribute for longer-term rebuilding efforts to Odette-affected communities.
“Typhoon Rai has caused so much devastation in the Philippines and Malaysia — so many families have lost so much. Apple will be contributing to relief, recovery, and longer-term rebuilding efforts. #OdettePH,” the Apple chief said in a Twitter post.
The Apple chief said it will also provide help for the typhoon victims in Malaysia.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said the typhoon left areas most affected were northeastern Mindanao, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, and Palawan.
The agency recorded a total 156 people dead, 37 were missing, and 275 were injured during the wrath of the typhoon. —NB, GMA News
