Globe, PLDT report disruption of services in Visayas, Mindanao due to Odette
Globe Telecom and PLDT Inc. on Friday reported disruption of their mobile and internet services in some areas in the Visayas and Mindanao due to Typhoon Odette.
In an advisory, Globe said customers in the following affected areas may experience difficulty in using GCash Buy Load, AMAX, Share-a-Load, Promo registration and Emergency Load Services at the moment due to outages caused by multiple fiber cuts and the lack of commercial power:
- Leyte
- Cebu
- Surigao del Norte
- Southern Leyte
- Bohol
- Surigao del Sur
- Negros Occidental
- Negros Oriental
- Dinagat Islands
- Agusan del Norte
- Zamboanga del Sur
- Samar
- Iloilo
- Eastern Samar
- Siquijor
- Guimaras
- Zamboanga Sibugay
- Western Samar
- Bukidnon
- Camiguin
Globe said their LTE@Home Postpaid, Broadband Wireline services and GOMO services are "up and available."
The Ayala-led telecommunications giant said technical teams have started restoration efforts in areas where it is safe to do so.
PLDT meanwhile said as of 12:15 p.m., its customers in Mindanao may experience disruption in internet services due to multiple fiber cable breaks caused by Odette.
