Three Filipinos among ‘Kindness and Leadership 50 Leading Lights’ in APAC

Three Filipinos were included in the Asia-Pacific section of the Kindness and Leadership 50 Leading Lights list, a global movement that names leaders in their respective fields who can affect the company culture and the industry they work in.

The Philippine nominees are Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc. president Ana Margarita “Ginggay” Hontiveros, Project Pearls founder and executive director Melissa Villa, and Spike and Serve Philippines Inc. founder and director Nicole Tiamzon.

Hontiveros and Villa were listed as Asia Pacific Senior Leaders, while Tiamzon was part of Asia Pacific Rising Stars.

“By placing a spotlight on phenomenal leaders who are harnessing the power of kindness to make a significant impact and to effect positive change, we collectively place kindness at the centre of the leadership debate,” said Women of the Future Programme founder Pinky Lilani.

“Together, we encourage the leaders of today and tomorrow — no matter what their role or background — to #leadwithkindness, because when kindness is the currency, we can all be millionaires,” Lilani added.

The nominees will be selected by representatives from different countries and industry sectors who will review the entries.

Among the judging panel were British High Commissioner to Australia Vicki Treadell, Piramal Enterprises vice chairman Dr. Swati Piramal, Blackrock Real Assets managing director Hugh Andrew, New Zealand Commissioner to Singapore Jo Tyndall, Dole Packaged Foods global chief marketing officer Rupen Desai, and IHS Markit partner and senior vice president Bo Zhou. — Jon Viktor D.
