McDonald’s Philippines warns against fake sites with promos, discounts

McDonald’s Philippines has warned the public against fraudulent websites supposedly offering products branded with its logo at discounted prices.

The food giant has since called on the public to order through official channels such as its official website. It also urged customers to report fake sites through email.

“The company is committed to ensure the safety of our consumers not just when they enjoy their favorite McDonald’s meals, but also as they share credentials when they use its various ecommerce platforms,” it said.

“The public is likewise encouraged to be extra careful and to conduct transactions only on official and verified sites,” it added.

McDonald’s products are available through its website, its official mobile application, its official Facebook page, and through third-party deliveries such as Grab, FoodPanda, Lazada, Pickaroo, and GLife.

McDonald’s Philippines Managing Director Margot Torres in June said most of the company’s sales come from drive-through and delivery services which account for 70%, given the quarantine restrictions set in place.

The National Capital Region (NCR) is under Alert Level 4, under which outdoor or al fresco dine-in services are allowed at a maximum of 30%, and indoor dine-in services capped at 10% but only for fully vaccinated individuals. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/RSJ, GMA News
