LT Group opens COVID-19 vaccination center in Pasay

Tycoon Lucio Tan’s conglomerate LT Group Inc. on Saturday opened its first COVID-19 vaccination center at the Philippine National Bank (PNB) Financial Center in Pasay City.

According to a statement, the facility seeks to vaccinate over 55,000 executives, employees, and third-party service providers of the LT Group. It has a daily capacity of 1,500 jabs.

LT Group President Michael Tan said 90% of the company’s employees registered for vaccination.

“We plan to continue our campaign to achieve 100 percent by yearend,” said Tan.

The LT Group purchased 100,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine and 160,000 doses of AstraZeneca, of which 80,000 doses will be donated to the government.

Meanwhile, PNB President Wick Veloso was the first person vaccinated at the new site.

According to Tan, the opening of the vaccination site proves the firm’s support for the Philippine government in its fight against the pandemic.

“By next month, we will launch a nationwide campaign to encourage the general population to get vaccinated,” he said.

A total of 7,538,128 individuals have been vaccinated against the illness.

The Philippines reported a total of 1,430,419 confirmed cases, of whom 1,351,691 have recovered and 25,063 have died. — DVM, GMA News
