CDO to distribute 1 million cans of meatloaf amid pandemic

CDO Foodsphere Inc. has pledged to distribute one million cans of meatloaf amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The initiative is part of its The Million Meats Project, which aims to help thousands of families who have been affected by the loss of jobs due to the lockdown.

So far, a total of 360,000 cans have been distributed to over 65,000 households in Valenzuela City, Malabon City, and Malvar, Batangas.

"We take it as a privilege to have been entrusted with this endeavor," Charmaine Ong-Castro, Lead for the Million Meats Project and CDO's SVP for Purchasing and Treasury, said in a press release.

"It was even more gratifying when our other suppliers took part in the initiative and contributed to the project," she added.

The Million Meats Project was conceived after one of CDO's foreign partners visited the Philippines before the pandemic. —MGP, GMA News
